On December 5, 2024, Viking named the newest sister ship in its award-winning ocean fleet, the Viking Vela. The naming event also served as a celebration of Viking’s longtime partnership with Fincantieri, which is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and is based in Trieste, Italy. Serving as ceremonial godmother of the Viking Vela was Ivana Elice, Vice President and Project Manager of the Fincantieri Cruise Business Unit, who has overseen the design and engineering of Viking’s ocean ships for 12 years.

The National Symphony Orchestra of London records Viking’s beautiful music score at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios. Written by Debbie Wiseman, Classic FM Composer in Residence and Viking godmother, “The Traveler” was created to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary in 2017, and its spirited theme reflects the exploration and discovery found on Viking voyages.
